Vending
Vending machines may be found on the first floor in the cafeteria area. Fountain drinks and coffee are available at all times.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is open for lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a salad bar, choice of entree and side dishes, and dessert. Breakfast sandwiches made to order are available from 8:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. All visitors and general public are welcome.
Parking/Security
Visitor parking is provided in designated areas of the hospital lot.Spaces for handicapped parking also are available. While we strive to keep all areas of the hospital secure, we are not responsible for vehicle damage, fire or theft while parked in the hospital lot.
Our security staff is on duty around the clock. After 9 p.m., all doors are locked following visiting hours. Please use the doorbell located at the front for admission after hours. The security staff will provide escorts to and from cars as requested.
Family Concerns
Kindred Hospital Tucson’s goal is to provide open communication regarding the patient’s diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis, understanding that families are crucial to our patients’ progress. Family members are always welcome to meet with staff and physicians. Specific conference time may be scheduled by calling (520) 584-4500, ext. 4507.
Post-Hospital Care
When the doctor determines the patient no longer needs the specialized services of our hospital but still require medical care, he or she may discharge you to a skilled nursing facility, a rehabilitation center or possibly to home care. The case management staff will help arrange for the services the patient may need after leaving the hospital. Kindred Hospital Tucson also provides a wide range of social services including counseling, discharge planning, and referrals to community agencies and securing medical equipment.
Medicare and supplemental insurance policies have limited coverage for skilled nursing care and home healthcare and some insurance plans require transfers to specific skilled nursing facilities. Patients and families are encouraged to check their policies to be certain what services will be covered.
